    some movies doesnt need the picture to be good thomas newman always increase the quality to the movie even the worst ones.
    if u havent heard him before u should check out the soundtracks to "american beauty" and "shawshank redemption". he has also done the music to "six feet under"

    I absolutely loved Shawshank. Especially the flyby scene over the prison. You need a good TV sound system to handle the bass for full effect too.

    Didnt know he did Six Feet Under, must check that out.

    Those are wonderful scores. But, my favorite Newman set is "Meet Joe Black"...Ah, such beauty.

    I love American Beauty, the soundtrack and the movie.
    Even without music, that movie is great. But Newman just multiplies the effect, his music on top of the emotion in that film is amazing - it is one of my favorite musical scores of all time (and favorite movies).

    Agreed Cherry. I fell in love with that movie, but it was the music that made it for me. The theme song is amazing.
    Does anyone know if that song was made just for that movie, or whether Newman already had it in his catalogue?

    angels in america and road t perdition are his two best soundtracks by far.
