A Treasure Trove For The Eyes

I found this site today which claims to show over 15,000 photos of Pipe Organs from around the world. Feast your eyes.

I see there are 3 shots of Wimborne Minster, all 3 featuring the En Chamade trumpets, none of the console or other pipe work.

This one at Lyme Regis, (at the other end of the county from Wimborne) looks like it might be worth a visit.

If it sounds as good as it looks it would certainly be worth a visit. Scrabl is a new name for me but their work would appear to be of good quality. With 50 employees it is not a small firm.

A great Flickr site - Yes indeed - A veritable Feast for the Eyes.
*If a man wants God to hear his prayer quickly, then before he prays for anything else, even his own soul, when he stands and stretches out his hands towards God, he must pray with all his heart for his enemies. Through this action God will hear everything that he asks* -Abba Zeno-

All fine and dandy, except for one unnerving practice that started some months ago on Flickr -- that line, "The owner has disabled downloadng of their photos". Not only is it ungrammatical ("The owner", singular, and "their", plural), it is a royal pain in several places for someone who just wants a picture of a console or pipework.

Photographers have a right to limit use of their pictures, but when someone has no intention of doing more than having a computer thumbnail, I think it's a great disservice. And how many of these poeple are professional photographers who make their living sellingt prints? Not, many, I suspect.
