My daughter agrees with you but I have not tried it yet as I have lost and kept off half a stone this week, even having had a proper meal last night and suffered the usual 2 pound boune back.

"2 pound bounce back" - Priceless...
Today I gorged myself on Bratwurst and Knockwurst and potato puree from Munich and washed it all down with a yard of dark beer - Oink, Oink, Oink![]()
I am sirtting here dreaming of a big plate` of chips with salt and vinegar

How 'bout some fish and Tartar sauce to go with those chips?
When we were in the UK (2010) we ate Fish n' Chips for dinner every night in a different pub or food establishment. Especially delightful when the fish was served over mushy peas.
Our beverage choice was J2O, something that is not available here in the US.
Currently on a three day diet, Hardest bit is no milk or butter as I do enjoy my tea, but am reduced to black coffee. Just had tuna and toast for lunch - no butter just tuna on toast. Still its only three days and they say you can lose up to ten pounds in weight. I will let you know, and publish the diet sheet if it works, I shall sulk and eat chocolate if it doesn't

Go for it, Teddles - You can do it...![]()
Day three and I could eat a dead dog. Thought of swapping one of the children for a cup of tea with milk. And what I would do for a bar of Fruit and Nut does not bear thinking about.

I wouldn't be surprised if you put back all you lose plus some within a week or two, crash diets are useless as a long term solution you need to alter your lifestyle to some extent; if all else fails have part of your stomach sealed off.
All most fancy diets do is put money in somebody's pocket, and it ain't your own; I had 2 wives, both kept trying different diets, none worked for long.
Eat food without all the fancy sauces and garnishes, meat and veg cooked properly is all you need, no stodgy desserts, more fruit less pastry/sponge/suet pud; plus you need to have an active lifestyle, that doesn't mean spending pounds on a gym or a set of weights and exercise cycle. It means doing a bit more walking, swimming, cycling. Aerobics is just a fancy name for PT with music.Exercising in a Gym or on machines at home doesn't get any fresh air into your lungs, mind you with your fag intake you probably don't have enough lung left to take advantage of fresh air. I know the difference I used to smoke 30+ a day, if I hadn't given up when I did about 10/12 years ago I doubt if I'd still be here.
Sweets in moderation, a bar of choc lasts me at least a week. I may splurge from time to time with cream scones or dumplings but they are not part of a regular diet. I've never eaten a Pizza, don't intend to start either. I'm actually losing a bit of weight, about half a stone/3 kilos in a year
Stop and think, consider where you want to be in 10 or 15 years time, above or below ground.
Cheers MIKE.
How many roads must a man walk down ... ... before he admits he's lost?
You are wrong Mike. Every time I have been on a crash diet I have kept the weight off, give or take a pound or two. I only put weight on after my heart surgery and have managed up to now to lose two and a half stone. One more to go and I will be down to fourteen stone which is realistic at my age. As far as fancy diets are concerned I have never paid for one, or brought special food. My wife is a very healthy eater, fresh fruit, veg and good meat. Being a cripple exercise is a problem, mostly got in the garden doing the heavy work while my wife weeds and plants.

Ps My favorite food is bacon and eggs. Bacon grilled and eggs cooked in a low fat butter substitute. Probably eaten one every two weeks
