Incoming - classic rock with jazz inflections

    Hi everyone,

Allow me to introduce you to a young band (average age 16 years old) of musicians in Southern California. They're all in the same music theory class in High School. Their name is Incoming, and they play Classic Rock with jazz and emo influences.

You can hear them here:Incoming at Myspace

The four songs on their site were mixed by Les Camacho (Massive Attack, The Killers, Pink Floyd, Alan Parsons, Fleetwood Mac).

Oh, and just for full disclosure: the drummer is my 16-year-old brother!

Let me know what you think, and thanks for listening!

    Thanks,
    Claire

Yeah, not my style but it is pretty good though. I think they could make it easily with some influent help.

    Very Promising!

This is the kind of thing young music needs, not the half-assed terrible pop that gets the limelight all the time!

    Swaft and Skaidon,

Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment!

Yes, I was very pleased when I heard how much they emphasized musicianship at such a young age.

They were also very, very lucky to get Les Camacho to mix the songs. He's a friend of one of the boy's families, and did it as a favor. Les' first big gig was running sound for Nick Mason (Pink Floyd's drummer) on Pink Floyd's 1994 World Tour. He really understands preserving the "live" sound of a band, while keeping things interesting.

But you have to start with good stuff, or no amount of mixing will make a difference!

    Peace,

    Claire
