Toccata in F maj. by Jules Grison on the Rudolf Knolls organ

Another fine piece on this great sounding organ.'Toccata in F major' Jules Grison (1842-1896)
Played by Gert van Hoef at the Rudolf Knoll organ in the Stephanuskerk in Hasselt.
    Enjoy the awesome accoustics.

Gert van Hoef is certainly a very talented young man. Wonderful organ and splendid acoustics - Never heard of Jules Grison before tonight ... I learn about more great new things on this forum.

Yes Lars very true. I had never heard of him either. I noted many of the new young organist are exploring many composers many of us have never been exposed to prior..A good thing I think.. I have been following Gert for last 2 years or so..and he now has a DVD too..which to me is far better than a CD...

This particular one is also available from Stretta Music, as is Jan Zwart's 'Alle Roem ... ' at a cost of 9,50 euros + postage. I've ordered both and have only been charged once for delivery (7,90 euros to UK).

Thanks for posting the link to Grison's Toccata. It has become a favorite piece played by an organist I admire greatly.

I have been following the achievements of young Gert van Hoef for most of his short musical career. Just four years ago his family got a home organ and Gert started picking out tunes by ear. Within months, he was playing Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor which he learned by ear and by watching videos. Here's Gert's first video, the Bach played by ear four years ago:

Gert's YouTube channel of over 125 videos is a demonstration of his talent and a chronology of four years of hard work! His skills at improvisation can be seen in this video:
