• Welcome to the Pipe Organ Forum! This is a part of the open community Magle International Music Forums focused on pipe organs (also known as "church organs"), organists, organ music and related topics.

This forum is intended to be a friendly place where technically advanced organists and beginners (or even non-organists) can feel comfortable having discussions and asking questions. We learn by reading and asking questions, and it is hoped that the beginners (or non-organists) will feel free to ask even the simplest questions, and that the more advanced organists will patiently answer these questions. On the other hand, we encourage complex, technical discussions of technique, music, organ-building, etc. The opinions and observations of a diverse group of people from around the world should prove to be interesting and stimulating to all of us.

As pipe organ discussions can sometimes become lively, it should be pointed out that this is an open forum. Statements made here are the opinion of the poster, and not necessarily that of the forum itself, its administrator, or its moderators.

In order to post a new topic - or reply to existing ones - you may join and become a member by clicking on Register New User. It's completely free and only requires a working email address (in order to confirm your registration - it will never be given away!). We strive to make this a friendly and informative forum for anyone interested in pipe organs and organ music.

Burea Extended in Hauptwerk

I have tried installing the GO set of Burea Extended into Hauptwerk using Hauptwerk's 'import HW1 organ' but get error messages. Is anybody else having this problem? I would be glad to hear if you have found a way round the problem. I have successfully imported other GO sets.

Please note, that the GO file format is an extended HW1 format. If the set uses features beyond the HW1 format, HW can't load it correctly.

Many thanks for your information.
I will have to continue enjoying the Burea Extended in GO.

Very many thanks Erik.
I have downloaded both files you mention.
The HW3 version seems to be the original Burea (not extended) which I already have, so I am really interested in the .organ version of the Extended Burea so I can import into HW.
I am sorry to be so green, but when I try to 'import HW1 organ' into Hauptwerk I still get the error message saying HW can't find the stops (I assume it means the sound samples).
Am I just not doing things right - eg do I need to link the downloaded file with sound samples or something else.
If you can help a 'novice' further I would be very grateful.
Thanks,
Ken.

Hello Ken,

I understand that you have Burea_Church_Extended working properly in GrandOrgue.
If so, it means that the .organ file used by GrandOrgue is in a directory in which also all the needed sound samples for each of the stops reside, each in their own subdirectory.
The HW1 capable .organ file, if needed after changing its name so that it differs from the .organ file GrandOrgue uses, should be put in the same directory.

To import the HW1 version into HW3 or HW4, you use in HW3 or HW4 File/Import Hauptwerk version 1 organ ...
This opens a window allowing you to navigate to the directory used by GrandOrgue, and select the HW1 capable .organ file you have put there.

Clicking OK should start the import.

If you still get an error message, please show it exactly as you see it.

Hoping this helps.

All the best.

Erik.

Hello Erik,
Thanks for posting a reply so quickly.
Your instructions are first class - I have acted on them and now I have Burea Extended up and running in Hauptwerk, which I have set up for running through Reaper for reverb, recording & editing, etc.
What a wonderful resource this Forum is, with people like you so willing to offer help and advice.
My very best wishes to you.
Ken.
