One of the rare organists that could make even not-so-interesting pieces wake to life.

This is shocking news indeed - I have many of his recordings.

To pass on so young, with so much more to give to the music profession is so sad. Age 59 is much to young.

Rest in peace Carlo ... now you and Virgil can entertain all the angels in heaven together.

Methinks that the Angels can show Virgil and Carlo somethings that have never been done before when playing the "Czar of Instruments".

The sort of surprise we could do without. CC was not only a fine and entertaining player, those qualities appeared to inform his very personality as well. I recall one of the first internet organ mailing lists I was on (before forums like this really took off). Carlo was one of the regular contributors, and it got to the stage where I would eagerly look forward to his next post - they were frequently as hilarious as they were informative.

I'm inclined to take the other tack and suggest that that between Carlo and Virgil, they could show the angels a thing or ten!

    Ave Atque Vale, Carlo.

It was with deep regret I learnt of Carlo's passing. I once met him in Teddington, Middlesex, as he rehearsed for a concert. A warm hearted fellow, He was always so approachable. Rest in peace
