    Copycat fandalism.

What am I seeing when I'm watching or reading about new bands I never saw before,
or heard of, who have one song on a chart somewhere?
I'm seeing a crowd or audience singing along or the band saying they sing along with every word for every song.
I know huge rock bands with decades of hits got that going, fans singing along with every tune,
not just for audience participation, but the whole song.
Some bands would stop singing or playing and just let the audience go.
Some bands even name a big hit song or start playing it, even if it wasn't theirs, just to keep that kind of audience going.

Are fans singing every word a real thing, or just a video and promo thing?
And if rock fans can get into all the lyrics for all the songs,
how come opera and symphonic fans don't sing along with centuries old lyrics?
Fretting fingers would like to know.

Suddenly I'm looking at words like I'm just looking at words, or seeing them,
not what's coming out of my mouth while I'm just talking or singing.

Replies that make you go "Hmmmm".
