Another reason not to drive a Porsche

The following pic on the front page of the local paper, the slight bulge sticking out of the water ahead and to the left of the man is a Porsche almost completely submerged.

This is under a railway bridge in the New Forest just outside Brockenhurst, I passed under that bridge a few weeks ago, it was dry then!!

One presumes he drove into the water before it got to that depth, stalled and got out, the water then rose further.

Be interesting to see his insurance claim, assuming the car is ruined.

VW's/Porsche's will indefinitely float ... but they won't float indefinitely.

I seem to remember that some years ago they used to race VW Beetles, with some modifications to the exhaust and air intake, across Sydney harbour. The old Beatles where so airtight it used to be hard to shut the doors with the windows shut.
Re Mikes picture, maybe he was dipping his lights? The fact that they float so well would make it a good reason to drive a Porsche.
