Hello Dion and welcome to the forum. What music do I like? Almost everything, apart from rap etc. Jazz of all types, Simon and Garfunkel, classical, I could go on and on. Being a member of this forum has been a real education introducing me to artists I had never come across before, not to mention pipe organs which I now really appreciate. I hope you get as much enjoyment from this forum as I do.

Nice to meet you.

I'll gonna try to be so active as possible.
I wanna be a singer but don't know if I can sing.
I'm 16 years old and my voice is still changing to a man's voice, if you know what I mean.
Is there someone who I can talk with about this.

I never sing a song in public or for someone.
So I really don't know how my voice sounds to other people.

Thanks.

welcome Tunes. I am sure you will find many interesting topics and discussions here. I am mainly a classical/opera guy..some crossover and easy listening styles....you must glide through this changing process so as not to ruin your voice.. do not force it under pressure.. routine vocal exercise and singing with good breath support will get you though it. Most changes start as a rule start at around 12-14 yrs. Do you have voice teacher?

Thanks for your answer, I don't got a voice teacher.
Maybe I should search around for one from my city, thanks for your tips anyways.

Tunes..you can find some vocal coaching videos(how to type) on youtube also which would be a a place to start and no cost.

 Welcome to this forum, Tunes -

A vocal coach is going to be necessary if you seriously want to develop your singing ability. They hear things that we can't, because all of our brain power is tied up trying to make good use of our vocal chords. Nor do we, as non professional singers, have the expert knowledge of a coach/tutor to know what is good or bad.

The "how to" videos that Bill mentions above is certainly an option to persue - at least you would get some kind of understanding of what to do in vocal singing.

You can also record a song or two ... upload it to the forum here, and let others listen to it. It doesn't have to be a professional recording.

Tunes.. if you want you can send the first video privately if you tend to be embarrassed.. but we are all friends here...so do not worry.

Good afternoon Tunes, and it's really, really nice to meetcha. Please, let me sit a spell and tell ya something.
I got talked into doing some gigs with an Elvis imitator after Elvis died, crazy gigs, over-excited women,
the kind Elvis really, really liked.
That caught the attention of Douglas, the only Elvis imitator to sing onstage with Elvis.
Douglas, from Niagara Falls, close to me, was doing Elvis songs in a showband in Hawaii,
when the club owner offered to pay for a sequined outfit and an Elvis copy single.
When Elvis appeared for a reunion at the venue where he did his live by satellite gig,
Douglas made his way to the stage and threw his single up there while Elvis was singing.
Elvis picked it up, looked it over, took in Douglas, and invited him onstage.
Later, backstage, he gave him two shirts that Douglas still lets those who, uh,
want to get closer to him see, maybe even touch or try on.
An Elvis bandmate and now Graceland employee said my guitar and case
was the nicest hand-made guitar and case he'd ever seen.

Just a little Elvis trivia for you, and some blatant promotion for me.
"We're caught in a trap, and we can't get out, because you know I love you baby".
