The organ sounds better in this video. Where are those shoes???? even Gert plays with tennis shoes and a pair of boots on one series. LOL

Im trying to play the pipe organ as often as possible to makes some of the dusty pipes speaks. Since i dare not to simply take the pipes to clean off the dust, i think playing it will helps at least blow out the interior dust maybe...

Hehe...SHOES... Yes Sir ! i must find a pair of shoes to play it next time, one thing in malaysia we seldom really wear shoes, we usually wear slippers and sandals because of the hot and humid weather over here. Of course we do have sport shoes and other shoes, but not all will wear them very often like a daily shoes. Anyway, its lame excuse to be...haha...very sorry to Mr. Pipe organ of St Mary Cathedral...

.playing it will also help keep the tracker action in better shape..nothing worse then setting without playing it.. if stiring up dust be sure to exhaust(vent) it from the chambers too. Take care my friend.

Short of having a tutor/teacher to guide you in Pedal Technique, you might want to see if your local university has a publication by John Stainer titled: Complete Organ Method.

Bench placement is crucial to being able to play the pedals .. I have drawn lines on the platform my church organ sits on (other people play the instrument during the week) so that I can put it to the exact setting that I have been accustomed to. It's akin to driving a car ... the car seat must be in the "right" position to reach the foot controls adequately as well as adjusting the mirrors.

With my diabetes and its associated severe neuropathy of the feet, I mostly play in stockings these days. Before the neuropathy set it, I could "feel" the pedals through the thin leather soles of my organ shoes (Organmaster's), but with mostly no feeling anymore, the stockings enable me to have that "feel" again.

Oddly enough, the late Carlo Curly also played in stockings in his final years.
