• Welcome to the Pipe Organ Forum! This is a part of the open community Magle International Music Forums focused on pipe organs (also known as "church organs"), organists, organ music and related topics.

This forum is intended to be a friendly place where technically advanced organists and beginners (or even non-organists) can feel comfortable having discussions and asking questions. We learn by reading and asking questions, and it is hoped that the beginners (or non-organists) will feel free to ask even the simplest questions, and that the more advanced organists will patiently answer these questions. On the other hand, we encourage complex, technical discussions of technique, music, organ-building, etc. The opinions and observations of a diverse group of people from around the world should prove to be interesting and stimulating to all of us.

As pipe organ discussions can sometimes become lively, it should be pointed out that this is an open forum. Statements made here are the opinion of the poster, and not necessarily that of the forum itself, its administrator, or its moderators.

Supress Log Window in GO3

I am testing the latest version of GO3 compiled for no SS3. Everything is working well on my console. I really appreciate the hard work you guys have put into this program!

Is there a way to prevent the log window from appearing when the program is loading the pipe samples?

Thank You,
Jay

Correct the ODF bugs.

My organ definition has been working since the days of MyOrgan, and everything seems to be functioning correctly in the latest version of GO3; but if you are willing to assist me, I will go down this path with you. As GrandOrgue begins loading the pedal samples, I am seeing a number of "invalid integer value" errors. Also, as the last sets of pipes are being loaded, I am getting "memory pool allocation full" errors. Attached is my ODF. If you can help me to eliminate these errors, I would appreciate it. There are a number of experimental stops I am using, and I am nearing the 1.5GB limit for 32-bit, no SSE3 with the number of samples I am loading. So I am willing to cut down that number if necessary.

Thank you in advance,

Jay

Attached is a cleaned version, but since I cannot load it I can only say for sure that there will at least be less warnings than before.

There are a few non displayed stops that I don't know if you use or not, but there you could perhaps save some memory if you could remove them.

In the label section there's some information that are contradictory. I think that one should not both have free positioning and the col/top of row information. In that section you should still have some errors, but as I cannot load the set I won't know what you really want there.

Kind regards

Lars,

Thank you so much for making the corrections to my ODF file. I found one other issue where I had a Tremulant Shortcut Key value = None, but I corrected this. There are only two errors remaining:

1. This combination file is only compatible with (Name of Organ Definition)
2. Memory Pool is full: 1486815232 of 1486815232 used

Is there a way to increase the memory pool allocation size?

Thanks again for helping me with this so quickly!!!

The number one should be due to that you have a .cmb file existing on your computer harddrive (chech in the Audio/Midi settings dialog where it's stored = GrandOrgueData) that won't work with this .organ file (name). If there's nothing extremely important that you have saved I'd recommend that you just delete the .cmb file and customize the new organ again.

I've never had any problems with a full memory pool, but basically I think you'll either have to add more RAM to your computer/change OS to Linux/switch to 64 bit if possible/lower the memory requirement for the set by using less samples or lower the quality in which you load the samples = can be customized on pipe level if necessary. Since you mention a 32 bit no SSE build the computer must be pretty old... Maybe consider an upgrade?

Kind regards

Lars,

Thanks again for all of the help! I will probably take out some of the samples for now as I do not need them. Eventually, I will have to upgrade.

Much Appreciated!!!

Lars,

I just replaced my computer with a 2.2 GHz AMD64 PC running Windows 7. I installed the latest version of GO3-64, and things seem to be running well. I am going to look at the help file for information on this, but is the DispKeyColourInverted option no longer used? This error is only appearing for one manual, even though it is common to all manuals.

I am hoping to have my ODF cleaned up shortly. I now have to make a rank out of one of my stops, but you guys already mentioned this in another thread.

Thanks Again,
Jay

Jay,

Check if DispKeyColourWooden works. I had once this with inverted... I changed to wooden - saved then to inverted - save and worked.

Check my clavichord odf in another thread if it can be of help, gives no Log messages so far, Erik confirmed on both his OS (Linux-win7)

Best

I got it figured out. It was a manual that was not displayed for my Zimblestern stop. The new GO is not forgiving as far as the ODF goes. But I finally got my organ loaded without any errors!!!

Great that you got it sorted out. As far as I know the DispKeyColourInverted works as it should, but if the manual is hidden (Displayed=N) then it's obviously not used and reported as such.

Kind regards

Lars,

Thanks again for all your help. I was even able to create a 5 rank stop for one of my pedal stops based on one of your other informative threads. You people are great!!!
