Apart from quite a lot of geraniums most of our garden is self sufficient with shrubs etc. However this year I have promise HWMBO that I will build some sort of frame work for two grape vines that she has purchased. They will also help block out the view of our neighbours who's garden is slightly higher than ours.

The only time I scrub with shrubs is when I wisk away my tracks in the sand,
sneaking around American security at yacht clubs along Lake Erie, Canada.
I don't want them to realize my bike and I are regular visitors.
They used to be armed until protesters got policy changed.

These gardens photos are impressive. Look for thorn-proof tire marks and boot steps soon.
You should install a karaoke machine out there. Your plants will learn to love you.

The clocks go forward tonight so we will get another hour of daylight (I won't say sunlight). Another hour when we will not need the lights on or the fire alight. A slightly cheering thought.

Saw a female blackbird gathering moss from the gutters today. Nesting is on its way so hopefully warmer weather to give the chicks a chance. Also the rooks are nesting high in the trees, a sign that we are in for a good Summer. I hope the rooks now what they are doing.

Actually managed to get a first (overdue) cut of the grass today plus a bit of clearing up from the Autumn. Lovely day but a cold wind.

I can at last believe that Spring has arrived. Rain this morning, but a beautiful clear WARM afternoon when it was a joy to sit outside. My wife started potting up the planters, I opened a bottle of wine to celebrate. Well, it seemed rude not to.

Duck shooting starts on May 1st so all the ducks are heading for the lakes in the cities and other sanctuaries, the deer over the river have been on the roar for about 3 weeks the leaves are falling and we have an infestation of mice so autumn is well and truly here

Sounds like a beautiful time of year there Colin, provided no ducks are injured
