Margaret Thatcher...

I was saddened by the news that PM Thatcher had left this transitory life...

Вечная Память...Eternal Memory

I admired the Bronze Lady - she might have oxidized but she never rusted...Imo she was the most important and influential PM after Sir Winston Churchill. Yes, I know I'll be taken to task by my UK colleagues on this forum but I must pay my respects to PM Thatcher. She had certainly more Balls than that effeminate creature that currently resides at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave...

A wonderful gutsy lady who knew how to lead rather than issuing sound bites and posturing. We need another one of her type to get us out of the ****we are in at the moment, EU? She'd eat them.

About the worst PM we ever had, looked after the rich and stamped all over the less well off, sold off all the utilities, Gas, Water, Electricity, and others, ruined the National health service and generally screwed up English society. The North of England still hasn't recovered fully if it ever will About the only worth while thing she did was kick the Argies out of the Falklands. Yes we need somebody strong, very strong, to undo all the harm she did. Those of you that don't live in the UK didn't see the effect she really had, only the hype pushed by those who were wealthy enough to make more money. Some people in this country obviously didn't suffer, or have short memories, try this list

  • town after town in Scotland and the north of England becoming ghosts as industry was decimated,
  • millions unemployed,
  • the total division of society ( she didn't believe in it )
  • the naked greed of the city (financial businesses) being stoked under her administration
  • the education system was left to the loonies, - Joseph, Baker and the like (education ministers)
  • castrating the independence of universities so we have no educational independence nowadays
  • The state sanctioned killing of alleged IRA suspects in Gibraltar
  • The kow-towing to police which has got us where we are today with them
  • selling off council houses so none left now
  • abolishing the cap on rents and housing benefits to benefit greedy landlords leading to today's spiraling of Housing Benefits out of control - which her progeny are trying to blame on "scroungers"
  • starting to commercialise the NHS,
  • flogging Gas, Electric and Water supplies to a bunch of chancers out to make a fast buck ( what could possibly go wrong?) so now profit comes before service and investment, and much of it now owned by international companies that don't pay taxes in UK
  • the poll tax
  • the alienation of UK from the rest of Europe
  • The almost total destruction of free dental services in England and Wales

Iron lady? MAY SHE RUST IN PIECES

One of the reasons why I respected PM Thatcher:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=cMJf-EoRc1g

PM Thatcher really put the swedes and their "cherished" shibboleth of "neutrality" in their place. As PM Thatcher said, had everyone been neutral like sweden Hitler would have won. PM Thatcher proved that sweden is a spineless and cowardly country with a majority of its citizenry thats more worried about not receiving govt. subsidies than defending the country - a simpering, whimpering, sniveling bunch of lily-livered cowards - GAAAHHH! How I detest, loathe, and despise cowards. The swedes didn't help the Danes or the Norwegians against Hitler - The swedes let Hitler's war machine transit through sweden aboard freight trains to Norway where many Norwegians died because of sweden's cowardice. I love the Norwegians and the Danes because they fought against the Nazis - swedes didn't. Hitler wanted access to Norway's Heavy Water program, which was key to Hitler's Nuclear Weapons program. The swedes refusal to help their neighbors has been a reason why Norway and Finland didn't buy the JAS Gripen fighter jet. As a former swede I hang made head in shame in re to sweden's cowardice called "neutrality" - In the '80's there were about 37 fighter squadrons - now there are about three.

The death of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher is making news in Canadian newspapers,
the general description of her "new kind" of political success being her use of public financial records,
making policy for those who join political parties and governing society by ignoring those in poverty.

Corno Dolce should be proud it was a Russian newspaper who nick-named her "The Iron Lady".
This makes me very glad that it was the Russion iron curtain I got to see behind.

Six years ago the left wing scum announced that when Maggie died they were going to get THE WITCH IS DEAD, from THE WIZARD OF OZ into number one in the hit parade. Well, they have succeded. Will it be played on the radio as the number one or will it be vetoed? Any comments on the sick *******.

I do admire her as a strong person but having also experienced similar ideologies put into practice in NZ via Roger Douglas I can see the opposite point of view.
The results are a shifting of more wealth and power to the big boys on the right, a complete lack of respect for law and order, general disregard for morality, a bailing out of the money lenders when they go belly up, the state builds an asset which the private sector could not afford to do then when its up and going flog it off so that the MARKET can make a lot of nice money from the people that built it.Oh I could go on but whats the point its all history now and I suppose it is evolution at work. Little acknowledged fact. Of the 630 coal mines operational when Mrs Thatcher took over as Prime Minister 300 had already been scheduled for closure by the previous Labour government. Very cunning. They arranged to close them but she got the blame.

Yes I agree teddy England was in a mess and things needed to be done, she was strong and did more things right than wrong but I can only judge as an observer, some people were hurt and they were understandably angry. move on.
