• Welcome to the Pipe Organ Forum! This is a part of the open community Magle International Music Forums focused on pipe organs (also known as "church organs"), organists, organ music and related topics.

This forum is intended to be a friendly place where technically advanced organists and beginners (or even non-organists) can feel comfortable having discussions and asking questions. We learn by reading and asking questions, and it is hoped that the beginners (or non-organists) will feel free to ask even the simplest questions, and that the more advanced organists will patiently answer these questions. On the other hand, we encourage complex, technical discussions of technique, music, organ-building, etc. The opinions and observations of a diverse group of people from around the world should prove to be interesting and stimulating to all of us.

As pipe organ discussions can sometimes become lively, it should be pointed out that this is an open forum. Statements made here are the opinion of the poster, and not necessarily that of the forum itself, its administrator, or its moderators.

In order to post a new topic - or reply to existing ones - you may join and become a member by clicking on Register New User. It's completely free and only requires a working email address (in order to confirm your registration - it will never be given away!). We strive to make this a friendly and informative forum for anyone interested in pipe organs and organ music.

.... even if it now shows where to save the created odf (and name it) , after clicking save, doesn't create the odf, at least where I save it.
Any ideas why ?

Hello Panos, I would not know. ODF-Maker works with the same principle as my previous program (MMRPipe). I Tried to turn ODF-Maker on other computers, the only error that gave "missing cmndlg32.ocx" that anyone with an internet search fails to resolve. However, I have prepared a short video where I create an ODF file demo https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/79674895/Video-Odf.avi . Saluti, let me know. If you have trouble viewing the video, I suggest you download it.

I translated the Italian Text in ODF Maker.
The program takes you through a number of requesters where you fill in the details of your organ. Trouble is you can't back up if you make a mistake.

These are translations of the text in the requesters;

Number of keys on the keyboards?
Number of pedals on the Pedalboard?
Without "Release" (can't translate this, help anyone???)
Chiudi = Close (why this appears I don't know.)
Number of keys on the keyboards Number pedals Pedals?
Which manual is the great?
How many stops do you want to insert in the first manual?
Write the name of the stop as it is to appear on the drawknob
Write the path of the stop (usually \ and the folder name)
Write the path and value of the second "release"????
This is repeated for as many times as you have selected the number of stops on the manual..............
How many stops do you want to insert in the Second manual?
Process is repeated for the Second manual.
How many stops do you want to insert in the Pedal?
Process is repeated for the Pedal.

The program works, but the .odf I created would not run. I need to keep playing with it.

Sorry, I made some errors in the above post, but do not seem able to edit.
Line 5 of the translation is gibberish.
The 'odf ran, but immediately came up with an error.

Mick Thanks for trying my software.
"Release" is when a wav file has more final parts, multireleases (as are all samples of Sonus Paradisi), and is already an English word.
As soon as I have some time I translate into English the program using your own translation.

What kind of error? What he wrote the log file?
You read odf, unable to see what is not good?
Excuse my bad English. Blame google translate.

Mick, a simplified explanation; pipe samples are typically just a few seconds long, when preparing samples markers are set to define the points where a note is "looped", that is when a loop repeat marker is reached the note is repeated from a loop start marker, thus notes can be held for a longer period than the sample, when a key is released the note skips to an end marker which as its name suggests is near the end of the sample and defines how the note decays.

Hi Mike.
I knew about multiple releases but didn't put 2 and 2 together.
Thanks,
Mick.

You are very welcome. Please let me see the final version before you release it, so I can give the English a final look-over (was going to say "Polishing" but I thought that might be confusing!)

ODF Maker problem

I am continuing to try the ODF-Maker program, but I cannot get past the error "Missing required value section 'Manual000' entry name.
The names are there, clear as daylight. These error messages make me nuts! Anyone suggest what the real error is?
I have attached the .odf. (at least I think I have!)
Mick.

OK, I removed all redundant spaces and it works.
But I think some spaces that create a problem were added by ODF Maker. I will make the file again to make sure.
Thanks,
Mick.

Confirmed, ODF Maker puts spaces either side of some "equals" signs in the .odf file, and this creates the "missing required value" errors.
Mick.

Hi. I am having a problem running the ODF maker. Program opens ok but when I press the create manual button the program reports an error 339 - relating to cmdlg32.ocx. This file (V.6.1.98.16) is on my system - WIN7x64. Any ideas please?
