    Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 2

I'm curious as to why Vladimir Horowitz never recorded the Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 2.
Also Claudio Arrau never recorded it, although he did do the sound track in the movie Rhapsody (1954) with Elizabeth Taylor, Vittorio Gassman, and John Ericson.
    Am I right about this?

I think you are right but I don't know why.
I have a couple of video interviews with him and he was a gentleman of the first degree IMO
    I don’t want a signature any more

I checked his list of recordings and could not find this one either ... he did do the Piano Sonata No. 2, but that is a completely different work.

And after looking at the score I might have had second thoughts too.

Or maybe it was a piece not to his liking ... musicians are funny people at times - if the music isn't in their heart and soul they just won't play it. I encounter those times myself, too.
