    Hi Corno,

I did--I've been "auditioning" Messiaen's organ stuff, what I can find in the libraries, because I've been intrigued by the Complete Organ Works disc set on Amazon. I love his orchestral music and Vingt Regards.

That's quite an act of stamina to get through the entire piece. I need to do that again soon. Thanks for the link--I've only seen some the Muraro segments of the piece. This one had interesting lighting to go along with the playing. The tempo is sligthly faster than the Hakon Austbo version I have, which is fine with me.

    Listened today:

Robert Simpson Symphony No. 3 and portions of No. 5

    Hello Fretless,

There is another piece by a little known composer which has an approximate duration of 540 minutes - that, dear colleague, needs stamina with a capital S. I waiting for the typeset version of it - there is only the manuscript:

    Cheers,

    Hi Fretless,

A recording of the 13th I wish I had was with Kirill Kondrashin conducting the Moscow Phil. and Vitaly Gromadski as bass vocalist on the old Melodiya label. Gromadski just stuns one in one's tracks.

    Cheers,

    Corno Dolce
