Test recording, before the real deal

    Hi!

Long time since I have been active here, but now it's time again with little pipe organ music!

A preliminary test recording before a real CD recording. Tried out four Schoeps and two Neumann KM130 microphones that we will use. What do you think of the sound and the balance between room and organ?

    It´s a 16bit 44.1 wav-format.

Enjoyed listening Janne, though don't have either the knowledge or the critical ear to make any judgement, though other members undoubtedly will.

In which church are you playing, and on which organ?

I made a new version and tried to fix some phase issues!

It´s in Luleå cathedral, Grönlund organ. You see the organ in my avatar

It´s is the organist of this cathedral who is playing.

Enjoyed the performance.. liked the balance and sound best at the fugue section.. Prelude section seem to be a bit over bass wise.

Haven't yet been further north yet (in Sweden) than Sundsvall, but if ever I'm near Lulea I'd love an opportunity to play in the Dom. Managed a very short session in Harnosand Dom last year, but organists were very difficult to contact in advance.

You call your instrument "little organ", for me it is not, the sound is great. Your recording is very good, the notes are pure and bright, the bass are powerful just as we like it to be.

    Janne,

Enjoyed this preliminary recording. I thought that the overall sound was excellent - Neumanns are a great choice for organ and do tend to accentuate the bass a little, but it certainly was not over powering by any means.

We went through the recording Markus and I tonight and found that there are some adjustments to make to the final recording. We will fine tune the final mix and bring the sound levels as it should be.

Thank you for your comments and for your attention.
