Blow Hot, Blow Cool

The title of an LP I revisited last evening, dated 6/'56; Blow hot side features Herbie Fields Sextet, however there are 10 personnel listed, I presume not all tracks have the same line up: apart from Herbie Fields, 4 trombones, Kai Winding, Bill Byers, Eddie Bert & Bart Varsallona; Nicholas Drago, trumpet; Joe Black, piano; Rudy Cafaro, Yashiaki Nadaoka, guitars; Peter Compo, Harvey Lang Jr, Bass; Joseph Black, Harp; Guy Vivdros, Drums; Many of them I've never heard of, sounds good though

The cool side features "The Melrose Avenue Conservatory Chamber Music Society" another name for a Marty Paich octet; Stu Williamson Trumpet, "Bert Herbert", Alto; Jack Montrose, Buddy Collette, tenor; Bob Gordon, Baritone; Marty on piano; Curtis Counce, bass;, Forest "Chico" Hamilton, drums; I'm wondering who "Bert Herbert" might be, the sleeve notes give a long list of his CV, born LA 1928, claims Benny Carter and Charlie Parker as influences, played with Venuti in '46, Jack Fina '49 (Paul Desmond in same sax section), later with Claude Thornhill, Billy May '51, then Howard Rumsey's All-stars; then led his own quartet with wife Lorraine on piano. Google implies it could be Herb Geller, if so why the " " ?
