Thanks to all ... a little late in responding ... sorry about that.

Wife was injured last week; fell off running horse while packing out from the western most part of the Grand Canyon (Havasu Falls, AZ). I had to make an emergency trip to Flagstaff (AZ), a 4.5 hour drive from home and stayed up there for three nights. She was released last Friday (May 8th) and I got to bring her home. Since that time I've been her personal care partner, cook, bottle washer, nurse, pill giver, etc etc etc.

She is recuperating from the injuries - 7 fractured ribs, a small lesion in the kidney, and is on oxygen 24/7 until further notice. Her doctor has given her a good prognosis and she should be fully recovered in about 6 or 8 weeks.

The medical facilities here no longer wrap up the torso when ribs are fractured. They are left to heal naturally - lots and lots of sleep for the patient and hoards of pain killers (narcotic ones) to ease the suffering. She's a fighter and will make it through all this.

Sorry to hear about your wife's issues. I know ribs can hurt badly when injured and kidney damage is never good.. I send prayers for quicker recovery. Don't forget to take care of yourself too.

I can sort of empathize with your wife's pain. I cracked a rib once and once is more than enough. I pray she gets better as quickly as possible.
