Hello

First and foremost thanks for taking the time to read my post

I am looking to identify the instrument in this short sound clip here
The person who composed this piece is is a Video Game Composer.

So far I am unable to figure out the instrument's name.
It sounds somewhat high pitched, and awfully like an ethnic dulcimer of some sort (or a plucked instrument with qualities like a harpsichord), the instrument sounds like it has a sharp attack timbre.

I have already compared the sound to a Dulcimer, Santur, Koto, Zither, GuZheng, Banjo and a Sitar - but they can't get close to a sound-profile of this nature.

If you have heard this instrument before please post your thoughts.

Thanks

Sounds like a synthesized something to my ears ... sounds very electronic.

Thank you for your responses

It never occured to me to consider synthesized instruments since I was so bent on looking the sound coming from a natural instrument.
@wljmrbill, If its okay with you - could you please let me know what sort of Keyboard did you identify it from?

Thanks again!

Hey! Can anyone else remember the opening to "Stayin' Alive"?
You're listening to a speeded up clavinet, or a cheap synth.
That was considered to be a chirping sound, not a harsh treble hit.
That's how Alvin and the Chipmunks got their voice, speeding it up a little.

The Beatles, through the BBC, were the first to get a new recording device,
that let them play their tapes sped up or slowed down, without changing pitch.
Imagine listening to your recording, and then speeding it up or slowing it a little,
waiting to hear what makes it sound better.

This setting today, you have to admit, is a nice match for the Beegee's vocals.
