I'd like to briefly relate my experiences with trying to get GrandOrgue to work with a Viscount MIDI-capable electronic organ, in the hope of helping other people avoid the expensive and time-consuming mistake I made. My issue was purely a MIDI one, GrandOrgue has always behaved brilliantly.
In a nutshell - if you buy a cheap USB to MIDI adaptor, and you get odd MIDI behaviour such as only being able to use the console keyboard that sends on MIDI channel 1, suspect the adaptor.
Especially if has a picture of a treble clef on it and costs less than 20 currencies. Even if the adaptor works fine with other devices which use multiple MIDI channels.
As you can guess, I made the mistake of suspecting the organ, when all that was needed was a USB to MIDI adaptor from a reputable brand which is fully compliant with the MIDI spec. These are not as cheap, but rather cheaper than the costs of sending your electronic organ logic board back to the manufacturer for a repair it doesn't need.
