Can't get "default to engaged" to work

I can't get the tag "default to engaged" to work on Josef Basquin's Silbermann ODF. Is there anything that might stop it from working?
    Thanks,
    Mick

Did you try "revert to defaults"?

No, everything else is working fine, this is part of an experiment to create an "Organ Ready" indicator. I don't know what "revert to defaults" does, I will investigate.
    Thanks,

    "File/Revert to defaults".

GO includes a organ ready indicator (on led) on the master panel.

But I'm looking to put one on the console. Can it send a MIDI message? Thanks, I'll check it out.

I'm sorry, I'm not seeing this. Is it there by default? Or is it in a later build than I am using? Anyway what I'm looking for is a way to have a indicator on the organ console, as I'm getting close to having no need for a computer monitor. My idea was to have an unused drawknob pop out when the organ is ready. So I thought if I have a stop be on by default, it would operate the drawknob. But it doesn't seem to work.

Sorry, I meant the menu entry "File/Reset to defaults".

There is no need to implement it yourself - GO already provides this (=ON indicator) on the master panel and it allows sending MIDI events (right click).

I think you meant LCD? Used with the active labels? It's very cool but doesn't fit with my fifties-era console.
I just want a simple indicator lamp.

There has been a "LED" indicator added some time ago.

I'm sorry Martin, I just can't find it. Please give novice-level instructions as to where it's hiding.

The LED works well, I have made a rather "Heath Robinson" bell that rings when the organ is ready, here's a picture. (yes the gong is a hole saw blade, its all I could find in my workshop. I will replace it!)
Can't get "default to engaged" to work-startbell-jpg
The striker is a broken SAM, since it is mounted vertically it hits the bell and drops down again. The relay latches the LED indicator on, and shortens the pulse to the striker. The relay only unlatches when the console is turned off, this is an issue I have to address, see below.

Question 1, does the LED send any message when the organ is closed? For some reason Midi-Ox will not show my MIDI out messages. At the moment the device can only be reset by powering down the console, I would like it to reset when the GO organ is closed, so that if I were to open another organ it would work again.

Question 2, the master panel shows on top of the organ proper panel. Can it be made to remain behind it, or not show at all?

And, Martin, you were right, the five dollar MIDI interface goes nuts. Endless sysex messages But I'll experiment a bit before trashing it.

    Cheers,
    Mick

Add 1) Yes, GO will send a off MIDI event, when the organ stops being playable. Select an event type, that does not include on/off and it should send the low value.
Press panic - this should also send the off / on sequence.
Add 2) GO will remember the panel position at the last time you pressed save (except for what what panel was behind/above another panel).

PS: Maybe your MIDI interface has a common chipset and someone has written a better firmware for it [more likely under linux].

I added a second relay triggered by the "off" message, and now it works perfectly. Is there a way to keep the main screen on top? Could the LED be a setter object?
    Thanks,
    Mick
