    Looking for Repertoire Suggestions

    Hi All,

I have a recital coming up in late April of this year. I have about a 10-15 minute gap I'm looking to fill. Considering the rest of the program, I'd like something that's lyrical and NOT French, preferably English or American and maybe more contemporary. It would also need to be somewhat substantial since it's for a degree recital, but something not too "heavy" to balance the rest of the program. Below is the current program draft with the slot I'm trying to fill indicated, so you can get an idea of context. Suggestions for a piece or pieces would be appreciated!

Fantasia super: Komm Heiliger Geist, BWV 651 -J.S. Bach
    (EMPTY)
    Deux Esquisses, Op. 41 - M. Dupré
    Scherzo, Op. 2 - M. Duruflé
    Sonata Eroïca - J. Jongen

I have a friend who is in the doctorate program who wrote a Toccata which has just been published that might just fit the bill. Let me contact him at University of Oklahoma. Let me check my file for you.....I found it...Take a listen. Tell hin Mr. Bill from South Carolina asked you to contact him regarding using it... Take care and Good Luck..always listen to you on youtube.

For English, try John Stanley, he wrote 30 voluntaries, and 12 keyboard concertos, an Organ only arrangement of concerto Op2, No2

    http://www.npor.org.uk/cgi-bin/XMLFu...93&Code=2&No=5

scores available for free download at IMSLP, some synthesized Midi tracks also (try and avoid Op6 No 5 everybody does that, it's been done to death, all sorts of arrangements with brass etc)

    Cheers MIKE.

Would suggest the Handel Organ Concerto Op. 4 no.5 - available as free download if you just want to look at it. A recording link has already been posted on this forum.
