Speaking about the elected and the grant receiving unelected,
it was quite a crowd in the park across the street one night.
Merritt Park, on King Street, beside the Main Street Bridge.
What locals have called Speeder Park since the 60's.
I saw some serious crimes involving some serious criminals,
because I was sitting on a bench in the dark, by the canal,
just to catch the cool canal breeze,
and spit up mouthfuls of slimey liquid getting over my "Carbide cough",
what could be pneumonia or black lung disease.
The next day, I went to complain to the manager of this building,
saying an underage female meth-head hooker knocked on my door,
after four in the morning, after I got back in.
They invited me back the next day to make my complaint again,
before a silent government witness, saying they have a new camera,
and they could see someone let her in, entering by herself.
That was good for me, coming in on camera by myself.
They were having an investigation already,
and who and what I saw in the park and where they came here,
is what they were trying to find out.
One of the biggest criminals in Welland history threatened me,
coming on to me two days in a row.
The next night, around ten in the evening,
I got a phone call from a police related woman,
saying I should pack like I'm going on a vacation,
bring my guitar, a bathing suit, my bike, whatever I wanted,
driving in a big white van.
They took me to Leamington, over four hours away, near Windsor,
across from Detroit.
Any further explanations or stories about my three days there,
are available upon thread furtherance.
I came back with almost 20 business cards and three personal addresses.
Yes, the blather and the bluster with some blarney on top,
and being the only one who could speak some Gaelic,
went over more than well, a serious Scottish and Irish community up there.
I profited $52 with buy and sell.
This is the only semi-boring story.
One thing made me feel really good, and I heard it on a Sunday.
I always knew that those northern communities passed laws,
saying "Africans and African-Americans" couldn't live there.
When I was told that Leamington once had the same laws,
they explained.
They said that American bounty hunters from across the river,
would come over to kill them, and they couldn't protect them,
sending them on as part of the underground railroad.
General George Washington started a $25 a scalp bounty,
and Fort Detroit had some of their own.
I wish I had a dollar for every potatoe truck I saw,
double and triple trailers too.
I'm a fog watcher, I'm a fog watcher,
watching fog go by, oh my oh my,
I'm a fog watcher, I'm a fog watcher,
here comes some now.
Fortunately, no C.I.A. "fog people" were involved.
