    Vesti la giubba

Hi all. I wonder if someone would kindly point me in the right direction of a recording of Vesti la giubba not too worried who it is sung by in fact I would like several versions to enable me to compare them with a view to learning this aria which seems to be getting requested more frequently at our recitals Thanks in anticipation Sparky cheers

    Hi sparky,

Love that aria! I don`t think I actually have a recording of it (for shame.) But may I suggest Enrico Caruso? I think I saw it available for download recently (forget where, sorry.) Or maybe a recording by Placido Domingo? He`s one of my faves.

This is pretty cool, hope you like it- hear and see Caruso, Pavarotti and many other greats singing Vesti la giubba, from Leoncavallo`s opera, I Pagliacci. I can`t vouch for the sound quality, but I enjoyed this a lot! If you punch in Vesti la giubba at the top of the page, you`ll get 10 more videos.

    Thumbs up Vesti la giubba.

Hi Rojo I have now had a little time to go through both links. What a super site some of the archive footage is excellent I shall enjoy watching and listening many times I have taken a line out from my Creative Livedrive on my internet computer into the live drive on my main music computer and burnt an image to the hard drive of all the vocal performances then cleaned them up with some audio cleaning software and burnt them to CD the sound quality is now very much better. Thanks for the site it has been a most enjoyable experience. Cheers Sparky
