European Organs

Both of my parents are church organists, and for their 20th year at our church, the congregation is getting them an all-expenses paid trip to Europe (since I know that their dream is to see cathedrals/organs there)
So it's my job to find famous organs that they would like to see so that the trip can be planned and I'm at a loss. Are their any particular organs in Europe that you recommend visiting?
(they would be able to visit several places, so it doesn't matter where they are)

Dear Joji. You did not say what country they are going. Any way just for the history of it I would send them to Germany. They have or had a tour of Gottfried Silbermann organs. He was a friend of J.S. Bach and about 31 organs are still there. Some of them possibly played by Bach himself. Google the name Silbermann for more info. Europe's largest church organ is in the city of Passau. 5 manual around 16000 pipes. It is on the Internet also. In Vienna Stephan Kirche is fantastic (I may have missed the spelling)
In Budapest Mathias Church. I know many more organs but according to the country try the Internet, lots of info about organs, churches and history. Good luck and good travel! Les P

A humble suggestion for a travel itinerary to visit famous pipe organs: St. Sulpice in Paris for its magnificent Cavaille-Coll, the Abbey in Weingarten for its magnificent Gabler organ, Berlin Cathedral and its Sauer organ, St. Kilians in Wurzburg for its Klais, Trier Cathedral for its Klais, Milan Cathedral, Monreale Duomo in Sicily, Toledo Cathedral, Salamanca Cathedral, Saint Baafs Cathedral in Haarlem - Netherlands, MarienKirche in Lubeck, St. Pauls in London and Liverpool Anglican Cathedral.
