Hey everybody,

Just found this place while doing some research on orchestration/transcription. I'm currently in my fourth year as a composition student at a university in the U.S. My main instrument is Bass (of both varieties) but I also play some piano, have nine years of experience playing trumpet, and am slowly learning how to play drums. My favorite genres are "classical", jazz, metal (more on the slamin' brutal death metal/(good) deathcore side), and hip-hop. I'm currently working on two projects: 1. I'm transcribing Bach's Prelude and Fugue in Bb minor from the first WTK book, 2. is a modern version of a Concerto Grosso for two violas and strings. I've been trying to incorporate aspects of metal into the concerto (especially approaching construction of complicated rhythmic structures), but it is also heavily influenced by composers from Russia and Poland during the mid-late 20th century (Schnittke, Penderecki, etc.). It was commissioned by a Violist that I go to school with for a recital of all new music that she'll be giving next spring. I'm really excited to have it performed! My favorite composers are Beethoven, Bach, and Schnittke in that order. Past the third I can't place any with a solid ranking, but I generally like to listen to music from all periods. But yeah, I guess that's me in a nutshell. I'm super excited to explore this website.

Have a great day,
The Shark

Uh-oh! Not only am I a Watt, river-walking on top of Niagara Falls,
I'm letting my shark-feet give the American Falls some serious action.
That Maid of the Mist was on its maiden voyage too. Yum. Yum.

I'm teeth-gnashing away to McCoy Tyner's "Atlantis",
only because I'm not that deep a diver.
