I have an old early 2013 PowerMac G5, which I run Logic Pro with, and had a problem with a transparent grid which began showing up around the mouse cursor, and all icons, plus other lines around borders of things. I went on-line and Googled it, and everyone with similar problems said it was the video RAM in the logic board, which is soldered-in and not fixable.

It turns out that my computer, apparently an older model than was being discussed, was made with a separate graphics card, and that was the problem. It was easily replaced, for a total repair cost of $40. HOORAY!!!

Thank, you, commander Albert, and thank the little shop called HappyMac in Austin, Tx, who diagnosed the problem and didn't charge me an arm & a leg like the Apple Store would have...
