''Music, I feel, should be emotional first and intellectual second.'' - Maurice Ravel
''The greatest education in the world is watching the masters at work.'' - Michael Jackson
Franz Schubert
Excuse me, by the way, I misspelled his name. It should be "Mark Shepperd".
He composed about 6 or 7 published Christian chorale pieces, mostly in SATB settings. He's the Music Minister of the Church at which I accompany.
I`m listening to some of Shepperd`s work right now- nice.
giovanni`s going to be mad at me, posting one of his faves before he gets to-
Charles Tournemire

Dear RoJo,
I'm not mad that you posted one of my faves before I did - Golly Gee - I'm no monster - I'm ecstatic that Tournemire is getting more recognition.
Georges ENESCU
ps. I hope everyone is being honest here - no looking up in Groves Dictionary or online ;-)
I wasn`t really serious, gio; didn`t mean to cast you as some sort of villain, I just know how close to Tournemire`s works you are. My apologies; no harm intended. I should have posted a grin...
Well, you`ve stumped me, gio. Anyone?
''Music, I feel, should be emotional first and intellectual second.'' - Maurice Ravel

Nobuo Uematsu
Ha! I remembered one; I actually taught a piece by this video game music composer called To Zanarkand, from Final Fantasy (don`t ask me which one.)

Fun game!
But, argghh, there are so few composers that starts with the letter »U«, and the only one I can think of right now (without cheating and searching the net or looking up one of my dictionaries or encyclopedias) is as far as I know not a »classical« composer as such, but here goes (feel free to disqualify my choice): Björn Ulvaeus
Ulvaeus? come on...
What about the Schönberg student: Viktor Ullmann ?
Bah!
alright, next one Per Nørgård
Well, I suppose Anontin Dvorak will have to do.
Great game BTW
I think you type-oed there, Parry; isn`t it Antonin Dvorak?
The only k composer who springs to mind at the moment is Kuhlau, and I`ve forgotten his first name. And what`s worse, now we`re stuck with u again!
If someone has to cheat in order to keep the game going, I would forgive them; I like this game, and u is too difficult!![]()

Typo for sure
Edit: I'm not good at cheating.........lol
Dear Ms. RoJo,
I didn't take it THAT hard![]()
