    Introduction (for lack of creativity)

Hi, my name is Althea and I'm new here (if you haven't already guessed). I'm a high school student and play French horn in the school's band and orchestra, piano, and have attempted some harp. I'm deciding what aspect of music I want to study in the next few years, and suggestions are always welcome! Taking music theory is helping me understand what the music really is, and I love every second of it.
That's all for now, I'll probably come up with a random seeming question or argument later.

"What I have in my heart and soul must find a way out. That is the reason for music." (Beethoven)

It's nice to know that there are friendly people in the world And so many horn players...we're usually so rare (or is it elite? ) Until I have another question...

Re: Introduction (for lack of creativity)

I think that all of us hornplayers should ask Frederik for permission to have our own topic on the site
I'll write my own introduction in a while

    Hi Althea,

I don't think this forum here will venture too much into the discussion of horn-related items - alas... - not that you won't be able to start or participate in any discussion on topics about the horn, but the number of "experts" are limited...

For more discussion on the horn - you could try one or both of the two discussion groups/e-mail lists which are out there... I stopped my "subscription" (which is solely via e-mail) some years ago, so I'm not sure in what state these discussion forums are... but it couldn't hurt to try them out... - More info on: http://www.hornsociety.org/NETWORK/E-Discussion.html

Also... the International Horn Society - IHS - http://www.hornsociety.org

    Have fun.

Re: Introduction (for lack of creativity)

I also stopped recieving the mails from the discussion-forums corno has mentioned.Simply too many - I had't time to read them all - and it was too confusing to follow the threads. But it's worth a try.
You are welcome to put any question you like. We are a few in here who can answer in the "horn-topic".
