    Past legends are the best

    Surprising that Wagner's Seigfried from the 1955 Bayreuth Festival grabbed an award at last week's Gramaphone awards. Judges usually favour new works. But I agree with this writer - the old gems are the best...

    And they did this year, too. Siegfried won in the historic archive category, which seems appropriate.
