New pieces

I promised some people in here to post some of my latest music a while ago, it does however, seem that only few of them are left these days! So sad, but I will post two now, anyway:

The Globalist (mixed genre):

This one is made for an American independent movie called The Plan (shooting in the summer of 2007) which I was asked to compose the soundtrack for. I am however, working on a different piece for this movie right now, as the manuscript has changed some. The main character is "the globalist", hence the use of instruments from worldwide. This is not a typical soundtrack, but it's the kind I like to make.

Deep Space (Goa trance):

There's not much to say about this piece. It's Goa trance with one key note, and I realize that a few people on this board might not appreciate this genre, but I have promised to post some of my trance now, so here's your chance to expand your horizon then ...Or something like that

The Globalist. Wow.. i really like this one! Excellent mix of styles. Really neat.
Some parts of it reminds me of the Soundtrack of Monkey Island 3. Good work, mate. If there was an album with this kind of music on it, i'd buy it.

Deep Space. Sounds pretty cool too. Makes me think of the game Hitman or perhaps Deus Ex. The music they have at the clubs in those games.

Keep up the music, mate. I'd like to hear more of The Globalist style

Thanks for posting these. As for expanding my horizons, you have certainly have succeeded there. My main genre' for the past 40 or so years has been classical organ, but I am becoming ever more aware and interested in the many diverse musical avenues taking place in today's world.

I had to look up "geo trance" as it was not a term I was familiar with - I am now enlightened in word and musical composition. Wonderful composition.

The Globalist was great ... could listen to an entire CD of that style.
Keep up the great work!

I really enjoyed your Globalist song, I really could picture/hear it fitting well with a movie. Very unique too.

If you like to hear more of The Globalist style, then you might enjoy one of my earlier pieces, called ISO22k. I have posted it here before, about a year ago, so you may have heard it already. I don't know. It's a little bit.. ehm.. special. I hope you like that too.

Anyway, I have downloaded all your finished pieces from your site today. Good stuff indeed. Your music would be very suiting for games, as well as many other things, I really like that epic classical style, and you also seem to know a lot about game music

I look forward to hearing a finished version of your "Soothing music" as well, it's very good already.

Nothing could be more fulfilling than making someone enjoy a new, and fairly radical, genre. Thanks for listening closely and open minded!

It looks like I'm gonna have to make more music in The Globalist genre so far, but right now I'm experimenting with more extreme genres, I hope I don't get caught in the too extreme!

You know, I just asked an american I know, if Lars was a fairly used name in the states. He said that the only Lars he could think of, was Lars Ulrich, who is a dane. Are you a scandinavian in the states if I might ask? It just triggered my curiousity, as Lars is a common Danish name

The Globalist is a little bit special for a soundtrack.. It steals a lot of the visual unless the director go with it. But I would like to try something new. I'm glad you liked it!

I am of Danish heritage. My Grandfather, one of three sons, was born in København, the only who migrated to the states. I have a living cousin there, Ole Andersen, whom I hope to visit in the next couple years now that I have semi-retired.

I know of several people named "Lars" here, one being a Lutheran pastor in a nearby church. They are of Swedish descent, which as you know, changes the "e" to an "o" in their last names :grin: !

Seams like the track has been realy build with musical bricks: One part, then you add another, then you add another brick and so on. That's good idea.
But, for me (or for an ear) the next part is quite predictable. I mean I always can point out when the next such 'brick' starts, when the new instrument begins to play.
I beleive you might need to color the music with instruments, which don't play in these parts. Or it might be some effects, for instance.

But here the instruments, that you chose are very good. There are in "right place". And in Globalist it would be nice to find more realistic flute, for example.

I think music is all about expectation, and in that regard, one can easily end up with "bricks" of riffs and beats etc., provided you don't break all known.. ehm.. traditions and paradigms.

Thanks for the critique of The Globalist Dmitry, but you won't find me making music like that in the near future, as:

1) I don't feel that I have the proper soundfonts and synths.
2) I have been asked to compose for a computer game as of recently + two people are making remixes of some of my latest electronica pieces, and I'm due to collab with two more.
3) I feel much more comfortable making electronica. I like the multitude of instruments that sounds good (Mozart would've made electronica

But thanks for the critique again. I'm glad you (seemed) to like Deep Space, and you're not the only one, as this is one of the pieces that a certain DJ has decided to remix (which is an honor in electronica circles).

I gotta admit Globalist has a certain kick in it. The bass really gets my attention and I think Im hooked to it for the whole song. The track sounds like something that would suit something with pirates involved, or maybe somekind of weird tribe deep in the rain forest :grin: Time to add this to my playlist
