''Music, I feel, should be emotional first and intellectual second.'' - Maurice Ravel
''The greatest education in the world is watching the masters at work.'' - Michael Jackson
MTT's Mahler 7th symphony did not sound spectecular to me,neither orchestra nor the interpretation was at the highest class.Haitinks Beethoven with London Symphony was ordinary too but the other nomination London Symphony got with Gergiev and Profokiev is sublime.I believe best orchestral performance and best classical album awards are going to Valery Gergiev & London Symphony Orchestra
I'm rooting for La Clemenza de Tito!!
Jansons 2 recordings of 4 Shostakovich symphonies and as always Vienna New Year Concert is ignored.
For me,
