    Looking for some songs

I haven't been active here since like.. July.. but I have a taste for some 'mellow', classical songs and I knew this was the place to look. I'm mostly interested in anything with a calm melody with a violin or a cello or anything from the violin family.. just something calm and beautiful. I'm hopin' for some good suggestions and considering I won't buy any of it, I'd rather have something easy to search for so I can download it 'cause I'm just an evil pirate. Thanks in advance.

An instrumental chamber work, as you mention, is not a song. It's funny when amateurs carry their pop music bagage into classical and tend to define compositions (or even cd tracks) as songs.

I think you want some suggestions in short chamber pieces. Isn't?

Judging by your tastes, I'd be inclined to offer up something like "The Most Relaxing Classical Album in the World Ever". It's readily available, contains one or two of the aforementioned suggestions and is generally good listening.

It might not please all the purists, but I found it to be a great starting point. It's pretty mellow, one or two tracks will have you racing to the stereo to roll the volume back one or two notches, but other than that a good, solid album - particularly for those who aren't well versed like me anyway
