Corno if I were to make such a dish I would have to substitute pork for
lamb. The only thing I make like they make in England is scones.

There can be no doubts in my mind as to my favourite meal - in a restaurent:

A huge french pepper stake on it´s own plate, with two huge baked potatos from the oven and lots of different lettuce with a free salad bar, where you pick up red and green pepper, chili, different spices, corn, cheese and everything else of vegtables.

Now for the drink - A red Bordeux wine in living room temperature, that tickles on your tongue, because of the "hot" french pepper stake. That´s better than orgasm.

For dessert home made chocolate icecream and then the holy french brandy and coffee (not too much coffee).

Moments like this, I almost want to begin to smoke the Cuban cigars again :grin:.

Now there´s a real connesseur of the french pepper steak, obviously the preparations of the reduced wine peppercorn sauce is - the ultimate orgasm. However as a real feinschmecker, you know JLS, never to tell the wife/husband, the lover/the Gigólo or any other woman/or man about what real orgasm is. Play it cool.:cool: Of course about the reduced wine peppercorn sauce versus the ultimate orgasm, you´ll only know, when they lit the fire at your table.

You´re most welcome to this distingquished club Monsigneur JLS. You might even bring Mr. Simpson :tiphat:

The real tragedy is that the nearest place to find such a steak is two hours away!

JLS - You poor guy. That´s realy bad luck!!

Here´s an advice for you!!

One of the things I always anticipate whenever moving to another city are the restaurents near by my new recidens. Are there restaurents for the exquisite french, italian, spanish and Danish kitchen? Are there a number of chinese/korean grills? How far is it to the nearest beach? - you know JLS, realy important things in life for any major connesseur of good food and french drinkable red wine.:grin:

I must admit that I was well aware of the poor restaurant situation in this town before I moved here. Fortunately, I still spend a significant amount of time in Los Angeles, and occasionally in Carmel(very small, but one of the great restaurant cities in the world). I've even discovered here in town, the best Italian food I've ever had! Truly a miracle.

P.S. I love French wine, but California Cabernet Sauvignon is the best.

Please, you said the distance was two hours in a car for a place, where you can eat french pepper steak?

Did it say on your profile that you live in L.A.. California? Are they short of french Chef´s in L.A.? Or good restaurents, who serve the french cuisine?

I can´t imagine in this bigger than big city, the population growing by the minute, it would be difficult to find anything whatsoever needed for in L.A.?

Actually, my profile needs updating. I moved north to San Luis Obispo the middle of last year. It is roughly halfway between LA and San Francisco.

...and yes, Los Angeles has a huge amount of great restaurants. Just check out the Zagat Guide website for the LA area. If you include the phone book entries to those found in the Zagat restaurant guide, the total reaches almost 27,000 places to eat!

I live right here in Madisonville and I can find such a steak and our town
is little comparing to LA or San Fransico. There are only about 22 thousand
of us who live here. Right now I'm having a mushroom burger
with cheese. Who likes mushrooms?

The way that mushroom soup is made here in this neighborhood of
Kentucky, I will still say I prefer a mushroom hamburger. Yes the
mushroom soups here are nasty with the mushrooms all
polorized. :p:( I would rather have the mushrooms raw in a salad.

I don't eat seafood. No pork too.

Tilapia used to be my favorite but my husband got fed up so I don't buy it anymore.

Whether fish, beef or chicken, I'd like it chili hot.

I love pizza with beef and lots of cheese and green bell pepper. Mushroom, no problem. No ham, no bacon, no pepperoni please. Fill the top with hot sauce.

If I'm famished and lack money, I'd buy a bar of cheese (250grams) and eat it as is...all of it. There's a certain brand I like which is not too salty and actually creamier.

I love vegetable salad with dressing, of course. A chili thousand-island dressing! :D

Sunflower seeds! I can beat a parrot, I think. :p
When there is none, I settle for squash/pumpkin seeds.

Since I had such a nightmare over fried meats I won't eat that much
anymore. Like I said I will chop up some button mushrooms and mix
it with a scrambled egg for the right consistency and make the
burger patties and seasoning to make it tast like a burger. You don't
even miss the meat. The only meat is in the egg and the mushroom
also has protein.

Thanks C5. I dreamed that I fried some squirrel like most Kentuckians
and the animal when it came out of the hot grease came back to life.
Since then I'm really causous about meats. Plus I've gotten food
poisoning at one of the local resturants and I'm also careful with that
as well.
