Corno, what--pray tell--is Shashlik?

Hi Steve,

Shashlik is an Uzbek dish somewhat like Shishkebab. And the herbs and spices used are very exotic, not at all fiery - A very fragrant blend if I may add. I'm still trying to get confirmation as to what those spices and herbs are - Its like a very well kept secret.

Corno, that sounds very good, kind of like our gyro sandwich here in the states, usually made with sliced lamb, beef or chicken. Is it in sandwich form, or does it come on a stick?

Don't be in a hurry to depart Steve, we would miss you.

Margaret
Margaret, that's very sweet of you to say, thank you! Rest assured, I am not in any rush whatsoever! And I would indeed miss you and all my fellow MIMF friends as well.

Pierogi would have to be one of my favorite foods. Also, a potato (or pasta) caserolle. Or scrambled eggs, with all sorts of extra ingredients.

Seafood and pasta are two of the things I could eat almost anytime. Put them together and you have a feast. Bacon and eggs with a field mushroom cooked in butter, plus plum tomatoes and fried bread is also my idea of heaven

I love homemade pizza or maybe homemade chinese stirfry.
I use chicken in the stirfry instead of shrimp. My husband
hates shrimp. But chicken does taste better and so does
chopped up pork I cut up myself.

Yes, homemade pizza is great. Do you have any particular recipe for the dough?

Strange to some perhaps but I can't stand, (or even go near)- crab or lobster. I can't think of any other real dislikes. I generally avoid seafood except for the rare time it has been freshly caught. A big difference between that and stuff thats been shipped a few hundred miles to sit in a supermarket for who knows how long. Perhaps my favorite thing is a big cheese, tomato, cucumber (with a touch of shreaded onion or chives) - sandwitch. (With a little bit of mayo, salt and pepper. Doggone - now I'm getting hungry!

My wife hates seafood, and most types of fish. She does not even like me eating tuna or sardines because of the smell. I love being in the North of Spain because of the availability of fish and seafood, which tends to be half the price of it over here.

I can't fathom how one can hate seafood, just extraordinary. I mean, afterall, there's nothing quite as delicious as a raw oyster sliding down one's throat, especially if sprinkled with lemon juice and seasoned with a little cracked pepper ... yum.

Get some tackle dig yourself some worms and go catch your own Teddy, cheaper, relaxing, gets you away from SWMBO tastes better.

I agree with both of you. As for catching I am afraid time is against me at the moment. Maybe when I retire.
