YouTube and Google videos in your posts!

You can now "embed" YouTube and Google video directly into your posts!
Simply add the full URL of the video, including http, (for example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCAvpxkIBIs ) and wrap either [YOUTUBE] or [GVIDEO] tags around it.

Here's a test video. Rick Wakeman - the famous keyboard player from "Yes" - improvising on the pipe organ in Lincoln Cathedral:

Wink How about one's own mpg's?

I hope you don't mind my trying another option (I don't like putting everything in the generic player like utube, I have made mpgs - the Motion Picture Goup standard, y'know?
-------------
[googlevideo]HTTP://www.Givnology.com/301/wemadeit.mpg[/googlevideo]
-------------
I guess I can't do it.

I tried technical support here:

http://www.viper007bond.com/wordpres...deo-quicktags/

and

http://userscripts.org/tags/youtube

pieces to work...

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/F-p47zawto8&hl=en"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/F-p47zawto8&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

I suppose youtube plays flv and mp4 only, there seem to be plenty of converters the other way... and I suppose youtube probably works on blackberries and ipods so a superpopular site like Magle International need adhere to the masses. Maybe the quicktime plugin will play mpgs?

It's a great gift that you do allow them though Frederik buddy!

Doing it that way doesn't work for me I wind up with a dud. The only
I can post any video on any thread is to bookmark the video and
then drag it like this.YouTube - How Earth Sounds from Space
as an example.

Thumbs up This is a great new compatibility, open to aaaaallll those videos!

"DANG" funny Hanna, let's be polite here.

I solved embedding ANYTHING in UBB forums:

http://givnology.com/eve/forums/a/tp...973#8901045973

So DOUBLE THANKS TO YOU ALL!!!

Still, as Hanna has proved, incorporating ewtube could be opening the gates of heck... I'm still trying my home meade MPG file

Hi Teo,

FYI: The MIMF version of vBulletin forum software is configured to not allow HTML at this time - that may be why your MPG files don't work with that coding.

Members are, however, allowed to upload MPG files (up to 20MB) within their individual postings. Use the "go advanced" button at the bottom of the reply box, then scroll down to "manage attachments".

Cool It's ALLL a learning experience

Hi Krummhorn,

Hey thanks for the suggestion. I don't have any vids of my classical music yet though but once I do I know where I'll share them!

http://givnology.com/eve/forums/a/tp...973#3451085973 I got the embed tag to work, but I'm never sure when it'll work or not

Sincerely,

Teo

Hi Teo,
You can only put pictures up in the Gallery. Can't put mpeg's in the profile either -

I found them working just fine - all four of the above sound files played nicely in my version of Winamp.

Oh, what a great idea, thanks Teo for the video of Liberace, enjoyed it immensely. Will try to see about sending something soon if I can get my head around it. A whole new world of shared music is waiting for us. Sylvie.
