    Singers from Indian Film Industry

I think we have great playback singers in India starting from Lata Mangeshkar, Mohd.Rafi and Asha Bhosle, Talat Mehmood, to the present day singers like Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal. Ashaji is my all time favorite and her silky voice belies her age. The great thing that I like about her is that she keeps reinventing herself and doesn't shy from singing with either Brett Lee or Robbie Williams.

Oh yes we do. I agree to that completely. Rafi Saab's "Chaudhiveen ka chand" is unforgettable. Lataji perhaps leads as the singer who has sung maximum number of songs in a lifetime. Ashaji is a favorite too with her cabaret numbers she sung for Helenji.

I like Sonu Nigam too though my favorite would be Shaan. He has a boyish and a young voice which is very charming.

hi great to hear from you. You are right these people are maestros in their own right. Each has his or her own unique style of singing. R.D. Burman saab or his father S.D. Burman were great musicians. R.D.'s fans are perhaps today much more than when he was alive.
