    Thank goodness that's over!

It's been a bit of a hefty workout this Easter. And this morning I've been jumping back and forth between the organ and playing 'rock piano' in the 'group' the priest wanted! Talk about culture shock!

I'm starting to get the idea that Holy week could be a good time to go on holiday. (I deffinitely don't get paid enough for all this!)

    I know what you mean!

It is always a relief when both Christmas and Easter is over and you can finally relax a little.

Well, my Easter gig this year fell through, but at least I get to attend services at my own church this morning.

Well last Christmas was equally tough and demanding but in a much more pleasurable way. This was just a nightmare all the way from Palm Sunday right through to the Easter morning mass. Poor choices and logistically near impossible...

I agree ... just got home from my long run - 9 services + 5 rehearsals in the last 4 days ... 4 of those services were this morning !

So, NEB, you have a worship service that utilizes both traditional organ and rock music?

Holy week off for organists? Uhuh ... and what planet are you from

Yeah - similar to my schedule except mine was a little more spread out. 17 services in 8 days including a Wedding a Christening and 3 Funerals.

Only Joking about the holidays - can't exactly yake peak season off. Just felt like it when I got home yesterday lunchtime with only a simple evensong left to do...

And Yes - they're starting to introduce all manner of things into the services. Hard enough work with just the choir without all the extra rehearsals for the cover band to fit in as well. But the hardest thing is between preludes and postludes getting through a lot of rep in a very short timespan with very little time to run over it all prior to performing it. (hence the sentiment.... Hahaha)

Yesterday I was asked if I could startup a childrens choir as well. My response was "and how much will you be paying me for all this extra work?" (that response met with only a few mutterings and a hasty retreat...)
