Organ tuning tool ?

I have found in the effects of my wife's late Uncle, Leslie Betteridge FRCO a long wooden box with a slot together with a graduated insert marked C,B,A,G,F.E,D & C.
This would appear to be used for tuning in some way
Is anyone familiar with this piece and could it be of use to anyone.

I'm intrigued by the description. Perhaps you can post a picture here for us to look at. Was the uncle involved in pipe organ maintenance? Is there a mouthpiece on one end? More info would be great if you could provide it for us

Yes it does have a mouthpiece on one end, sorry no digicam so no picture I'm afraid,

Many thanks to John Page, we have established that it is a tool used by composers of Organ Music when not sitting at an Organ.
I would still like to find someone who can make use of it!
