    Juilliard Prof. in Sydney-today

Very exciting, if you're a Sydneysider and you can make it to the Great Hall of Sydney University a visiting professor (sorry can't remember his name) will be giving a lecture and recital on the Great Hall's wonderful organ ... today at 3:00 pm (Sunday June 3, 2007).

That's cool, Contratrombone64 ... Let us know how it went and what was played.

Any chance that these programs are ever recorded for broadcasting or podcasting at later dates? Those of us on the other side of this planet miss out on these wonderful opportunities that you have in your country.

Having now heard this incredible man play the wonderful Great Hall organ ... I was stunned by his playing and words can't express it. However, if you are in Sydney and can get to the Leviathan today (Monday 4th June) at 12:30 ... he's giving a recital of French Organ music (Sydney Town Hall, Grand Organ).

He is (Mr. Jacob) the Juilliard's youngest head of department ... plays the complete works of Messiaen and Bach from memory.

Just got back from the town hall and the recital by Mr. Jacobs. One word: perfection.
