Classical Music Suggestion

hey all,

i'm a relatively new piano player that's interested in playing classical music; particularly by Chopin. Does anybody know of any watered down versions of classical music that isn't too easy but not too hard? i find that it's particulary hard to find music for the difficulty level i'm playing in.

Great that you want to play some classical.

There are some easier arrangements of Chopin`s music, but I wouldn`t necessarily recommend that. It tends to be unsatisfying to play, because it doesn`t sound like the real thing.

It would help if you could tell us what pieces you have learned in order to suggest pieces that are at your level.

to this date i have learned beethovens moonlight sonata, chopins nocturne op. 9 nr. 1 (with great difficulty), and toccaccta et fugue in d minor.

Well, you could try Chopin`s-

Mazurka in C Major Op7 No5
Cantabile in Bb Major (posth.)
Mazurka in a minor Op67 No4 (posth.)
Prelude in A Major Op28 No7
Waltz in a minor (posth.) - this one`s pretty well known.

Let us know how it goes, and if you`d like suggestions for works by other composers too. It might be good to get a teacher, if you haven`t already got one.

thanks, i know i really need to find a private teacher. it's been a very difficult transition from the trombone to the piano to say the least.

Well, you probably got a head start learning to read bass clef at least...

The T-bone is a fantastic instrument.
