    Leningrad Symphony

    Hi everyone,
Does anyone know if the Shostakovitch Leningrad symphony is the one that is depicting the German army marching into Russia? I know it gets louder and louder and more and more intense, much like Pines of Rome by Respighi. Would be very gateful if someone could let me know if it's the right one before I go and buy it. Thanks, Petunia.

    Hi Petunia,

A short answer to your question: Yes!

Try this website: http://www.geocities.com/kuala_bear/...leningrad.html - it gives a little more indepth information to the history of the 7th symphony "Leningrad/war"" by Shostakovich.
