Hello,

First off I'm glad I found this group, it looks promising!

I wanted to show some young folks how much driving strong rythms are within classical / baroque music.

I played the summer presto from Vivaldi and a few other selections from the four seasons. On many pieces of the Four Seasons Vivaldi used many of the strings as a drum track! They drove home a rythm that was as driving as modern rock but with inifinitly more amazing music over the top.

What other pieces by what other composers might I look to to find more orchestral , concerto etc pieces where an almost modern sounding driving rythm is found in the strings? Such as what we hear on the Presto's of the Four Seasons by Vivaldi?

Thanks,
Muogin
