    Pop Clasical Novelty?

Pavarotti and Elton JOhn are the latest in an occasional jaunt into collaberations between pop/classical.Does it have any value other than commercial?Or can someone name a decent one.
Things may come things may go ,but the Artschool dance goes on forever.

Anne-Sofie von Otter and Elvis Costello. Their album For the stars is one of my all-time favourites.

I also very much enjoy Pavarotti's cooperation with U2 as the Paseengers (Miss Serajevo).

Most of the time though these combinations do not work.

I have a sneaking suspicion they only do it for the money, but I'll happily be proved wrong ...
