    Hello!

Hi! My name is Judy. I'm 47 years old and giving myself organ lessons on
the madisonville first methodist church organ two days a week. I give my
lessons by using songs that I all ready know like church hymns and some
classical music pieces like Jesus Joy of Man's Desire and listen to my
computer when I get home. Other songs include Song of Joy from
beethoven's 9th symphony, songs by Charles Wesley, and old gospel hymns
I grew up with and love. Some of them could also be a part of the
classics. I also check out songbooks at the public library to take to church
with me to practice on. I just became a member of the church last month.
With it being so hot here in Kentucky I had to take refuge at the library and
my church. If there is any chance of someone sending me the sheet music
for beethoven's 9th, all movements by e-mail I would love it! Even though
I'm 47 I still love to learn something in music and the Bible. The book of
Psalms is more classical music than even Beethoven or Mozart.
    Your's truely

    Hi Judy

    Welcome to MIMF .

A PD (public domain) score of Beethoven's 9th is available on this (click here) site in a variety of forms. There is even a piano reduction score near the bottom of this page. You can download these at will ... pdf format. There is also a plethora of organ music by various composers on that site, too.

Is this your first try at the organ, or have you studied organ before? Do you hope to gain enough knowledge about the organ to play proficiently as in a church organist position?

Glad to have you aboard here ... looking forward to seeing you around the boards here enjoying the many discussions.

    Mozart

Does anyone play mozart on the pipe organ? I'm curious about this!
I was listening to a CD a lady at my church gave me. I would love to
try out one of his most famous pieces. Do I get a new thread on this
    one?

Feel free to start a new thread, Judy.

Maybe in the Pipe Organ Forum?

Judy! It's always nice reading your posts, and better when you sent some to me. If you enjoy The Book of Psalms, you should try a real The King James Holy Bible and read The Psalm of David, after Revelation.
How can I describe it, other than far, far more poetic.
Even though I'm a hard-core electric guitarist, reading on this domain inspired me to purchase an organ myself. Okay, it's a 60's Thomas Organ found through Kijiji for only $20, but what a new perspective to try playing through.
I don't have a choir loft to echo off though.
What voices we raise, as we lift them to praise.
    as always, John Watt

I joined the forum the same month as you so it's been two years for me, too.
