Question OST scores for pipe organ

This is my first post, so hello everyone!

Well, i'm not organ player at all, but my mother is.

I have recently found some videos on youtube with the performance of two guys playing some songs from Star Wars movies sound track. I found them to be very appropiate to be played on organ as they sound great.

Also, i've found in Amazon a recording with some pipe organ versions of John Williams' and other composer's songs and they also sound great.

My problem is that i haven't been able to find the scores for pipe organ of any of these songs and finally i found this forum. Maybe one of you knows how or where to get them.

I was intending to make a gift to my mother with them, so i would be very grateful to any of you who can help me with this.

Thanks in advance and best regards from spain!

    Guillermo.

    Exclamation Didn't know that!

I didn't know that! I do take some practice sessions with the church's
pipe organ. This is my two best friend's pride and joy at the Methodist
church and they trust me with it like new parents would trust me with
their child. Believe me I'd rather baby sit with the Church's little pipe
organ made by wicks. Because children make me nervious sometimes,
specially the older kids when they are roughty. I'm extra careful of
this organ. It has 24 ranks and is just the right size to learn and practice
on which makes the console of the organ kinda cute. It's not as big as
some with as much as eight keyboards. I'm sorry that only your mom
plays the organ. What instrument do you play?

Well, i've tried some instruments before... Spanish guitar and keyboard mainly. But i haven't reached a good level in any of them (no time for it ).

I come from a musician family: My mother has ended piano career and studied up to 5th grade in organ when she was 60; my oldest sister is pianist and sang in a very important amateur choir here in Spain (OrfeĆ³n Donostiarra); my brother knows to play piano, guitar, bass, flute and also sang in the same choir with my middle sister who's percussionist and finally my little sister who also sang in some other choirs and is violist.

It seems that i'm the black sheep in the flock :P

Anyway, i am very interested in finding those Star Wars scores arranged for pipe organ for my mother. Any information will be very helpful.

    Regards!

    Guillermo.
Hi Guillermo, welcome to the club.

I've been playing theatre organ in restaurants professionally for years, and let me tell you: if organ scores for OST music exists, it's news to me!

Most of us who "ply this trade" use piano scores, and then recreate the orchestrations. In the organ world, this is known as "transcription." Play the theatre organ long enough, and it becomes second-nature.

I really don't use scores much anyway, as I am far more effective as an "ear" player. I use scores when I compose, and on the rare occasion when I conduct (haven't in years, actually). Or, I practice with the music in front of me, and memorize. After that, I don't need to look at the music again, even after not playing a piece for months.

If you can find some organ transcriptions of John Williams music, or even better, Jerry Goldsmith, PLEASE let me know!

Oh, I'm an organist and I'm OK
I play all night and I sleep all day!
