    Prime Mover - Imperfekt (2007)

    Hello all,

I just wanted to promote our band's latest record, "Imperfekt", which was (pre)released yesterday, and ask you, kind forum viewers, to review the songs from the record that we have on display on MySpace and mikseri.net (same songs on both):

    http://www.myspace.com/primemoverdrivkraft
    http://www.mikseri.net/primemover

The music is a mixture of all kinds of influences and styles, but the prime mover (pun intended) is guitar driven progressive rock, perhaps more in the style of the 70's than modern progressive metal. The lyrics are written in our mothertongue – the kind of Swedish spoken by a 6 % minority in Finland, which brings a certain tone to our music.

If you are interested in this kind of music, feel free to visit our website for more information: http://skivkraft.com/primemover/

Looking forward to reading your comments!

    Regards,
Sebastian (aka Kebu) / Prime Mover

The album just came in today. Once the album I'm listening to finishes (Residents - Mark of the Mole), I'll give Imperfekt a listen.

You don't need to thank me for the positivity of the review, the music definitely earned it!

    Hello Prime Mover,
I have listened two the first three songs, which you are presenting on my space and want to gratulate for the unique mix of styles and moods and for handling odd measures with ease. Basing upon Folk-Traditions and Folk-like melodies I have recognised a strong relationship to seventies Prog-Rock, I guess to the classical ones like Gentle Giant, Yes etc. though I like most the second tune, where you define your very own style and not repeating something old. And in my opinion the heavily influence of Folk fits best in the suit of acoustic with the unusual rhythm of the drums and the 5 quarter measure. So I think the second piece is the one, where you present yourself from the best and remarkable side.
Congratulations to the singer and the well-designed arrangements, perhaps from the production-view I would wish a little bit more room on the rock-parts. In my opinion the sound could be sometimes more old-fashioned and not too dry, especially when you are playing the progressive parts.
To sum up interesting songwriting, interesting harmonies, interesting melodies and i have enjoyed.
    Greetings from Germany, Dirk

Wow, you guys sound like you've really got it together. Great production.

We're faily new and have recently released our first EP called Shadows. We could improve on our production quality but the overal sound and style is really unique.

your thoughts and comments would be much appreciated.

Very nice. Even though it's not my type of music, I thought it was very well done. Keep up the good work, and good luck with your record
