I used to listen to quite alot by Jean-Michel Jarre - I did *get into it* back in the late 70's and early 80's and then it fell away in my eyes. Nothing personal mind you, just *grew out of it*.

I enjoy some of his music – particularly Equinoxe and Oxygene. They're ideal when I really want to relax.
Was a big fan for many years but have waned somewhat for a while now. I thought Metamorphosis was downright strange and what I've heard of Tea and Teo I've not liked much. I think the last palpable thing he did was Waiting For Costeau. (IMO of course).
Zoolook was an amazingly inventive and quite exciting album. It took me a few listens to get used to Revolutions, but it's become one of my favourite JMJ albums (especially Industrial Revolution).
I gather he's now doing some anniversary gigs using a lot of older gear.

Music is made to transform the states of the soul, for an hour or an instant (J. Alain)
He's ok. Not my favorite at all.
His music from the past is by far the best he has done.
i sure must check his first recordings, because i don't know it enough. in the "synth craze" days and style, klaus schulze, stomu yamashita and tangerine dream did much more complete and interesting music, according to my standards of what is pretty, etc.
and to correct myself, i would add that jean michel jarre did the score to the video game "captain blood", and not MAURICE jarre, as i thought...
Have any of you guys in Europe been following Jarre's 2009-10 indoor arena tour?

Hope he comes to the U. S. of A.!
Maximum respect to JMJ, a true pioneer.
I saw him way back in the 90s when he came to London. It was truly stunning, a real audio-visual treat!
I agree, his early stuff was the best. I also likesd vangelis, to me it help make the film Blade Runner something special.

I agree about Vangelis and BladerunnerI love early Jean Michel Jarre. For me he is up there with Kraftwerk. Mike Oldfield was good too. I grew up in the 70s and 80s.. it was an amazing and inspirational time. The world went space-age crazy. I've never fallen out of love with synths
'Equinoxe' - this is great work. Thank you, Jean-Michel.
Soon he'll be in Moscow........
Will you attend to give him a second chance CD?
teddy
I would really like to attend but my wife and I will unfortunately be away from Moscow at that time.
